Consider how it Sounds

Say your ideas out loud and listen to how it sounds. You want a name that is easy to say and sounds good. For example a rhyming name is very distinctive and may lead to teasing in school. Also names that mean other things like Forest and Sky can be a big burden to a young child.

Think Monogram

Think about the initials your baby boy will have with his name. The initials for Samuel Adam Paul give you SAP which may not look good in a monogram.

Remember the Tease Factor

Children are ruthless when it comes to teasing and funny names and nicknames are an easy target. As you are choosing a baby boy name think about what nicknames will come along with his name. Maybe simply switching a first and middle name around will keep the name you cherish and prevent undue teasing.
